Hey hey!
Im starting to think its gonna be impossible for me to ever blog on events. My birthdays gone by, and I meant to write about that.. but instead, Im gonna talk about gal! I feel like its been a while since ive had an article only dedicated to my booms.
It started on Pinterest, when I saw scans for the Liz lisa summer 07 catalogue, and I was immediately into it. I really wanted to look at some 2007 scans but I couldnt really find what I was looking for. But! Like two days ago, some new scans got uploaded on Galrevo, and I was so inspired by the popteen 07 issue, which happened to feature the afforementionned Lizliza summer collection!! I also checked out a Vanilla girl issue from 08 and saw some really cute stuff.
Without further ado and with a thanks to Darla/@toxictsukino on insta for scanning, as well as galrevo.com for hosting all those great ressources, lets get right into it :>
I wanted to start by giving the spotlight to this JSG babydoll polka dot dress. Ive been obsessed with polka dots overall and they were popular at the time, so you'll see lots more of them in this article, but I wanted to give this dress in particular a mention. Its SO cute. I love those shades of green and pink especially.
And speaking of green:
If you've read this blog, (or maybe just looked at it from computer mode), you might not be too surprised to see green featured like this as one of my booms, considering it is my favorite color, but actually it surprises me! Green may be my favorite color to look at, but i wear it rarely, especially in gal. But I intend to change that. Its too good not to wear.
Moving on, something I've seen coming back lately that ive grown increasingly into: capris and bermuda shorts. I did lump both together even though they're not quite the same. And there's a legging thrown in there. But the silhouette is the same:
Side note, those heels the girl with the sunnies is wearing. SO cute
I think I was surprised with how feminine these are. Maybe its the retro charm, or just that its a pretty flattering silhouette.
Anyways moving onto stripes. Originally, I had so many screenshots with stripes I deleted a lot of them, so it kinda doesnt reflect how into them i am TT
My appreciation of them definitely comes from those summer Liz lisa catalogues, it really made me appreciate resort style looks. And speaking of :
Pretty sure the pigtails girlies arent from the photoshoot actually but they fit the vibes. Anyways theres everything I like in this. Big hair, stripes, capris, and also madras which i havent mentionned yet but Ive been really liking too.
This one sounds more vague but : pretty dresses. You've seen them before in this article too. Lately Ive been appreciating more simple codes. I think a code where the only article of clothing is a pretty dress is charming and lets the gal's cuteness shine through.
Next up!! Less of a boom, but I noticed these cute skirts with button details that are pretty cute! I think button details are something I want to incorporate into my style more.
Here's more polka dots! I used a lot of them throughout the blog, and this is only whats in Popteen, we also have Vanilla girl to look at!
I really love that last girls makeup especially. The blush is so cute.
This one didnt really interest me but i think Nene would look great in that lol.
And this one kinda fits in the simple code niche. Also a new boom I have for tank tops!
And that was it for Popteen! Onto Vanilla girl, there's not really any booms to speak off aside from patterns. And pink which ofc had to make an appearance in this article somewhere

I really like this short manucure. Its a fun idea to have bling directly on the nails!
